Duscholux, a pioneering manufacturer of shower and bath screens, has conducted a survey to find out what people's preferences are when it comes to bathroom and shower space. In response to the great dilemma, which has historically divided users, this time they have made it clear: 82% opt for a shower tray rather than a bathtub.

The image of those long baths in a bathtub that used to last for hours is not so idealised nowadays. In general, with shrinking household space, awareness of water use, busy lives or the convenience of getting in and out can lead to users preferring to have a shower tray.

The interviews conducted by Duscholux also revealed that, when it comes to choosing a shower enclosure, the vast majority of people (84%) value the fact that it does not allow water leaks, as opposed to the preference for it to be small or of a design (10% chose these options).

The more customised, the better, and with technology

The most recurrent answer to the question on how they imagine their bathroom was that the majority of those interviewed (57%) believe that, in the future, their bathroom will include technologies to personalise the smell, light or temperature.

In addition, half of the respondents agreed that they imagine their bathroom to be bigger in the future, even though almost 70% considered the size of their bathroom to be sufficient. 32% of the responses were directed at the desire to incorporate screens and interactive mirrors for greater personalisation of the bathroom elements.
